Disaster And Development
Disasters are linked to development in three ways. First of all, disasters destroy years and decades of development. Second, due to lack of adequate development, vulnerable communities are most affected by disasters and third, development itself is a new type of disasters.
Such as weak tendency of unregulated and uncontrolled built infrastructure, destruction of natural buffers by mining and industries invulnerable areas and increased risk of climate related disasters from fossil fuel based production and consumption.Disaster risk management is considered important for sustainable development as the damage caused by disasters increases continuously.
