Marketing assistance to tribal communities for their Minor Forest Produce (MFP), Surplus Agriculture Products (SAP), Tribal Handicrafts and Value Added Natural Products And in order to fulfill the objectivesof providing profitable prices and protecting them from exploitative private traders and middlemen, Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India Ltd. (TRIFED) was established in the year 1987 by the Government of India.TRIFED also undertakes the work of implementing the Minimum Support Price Scheme proposed by the Central Government for selected minor forest produce.It is a national organization working under the Multi-State Cooperative Societies Act, 1984 which is known as the Multi-State Cooperative Societies Act, 2002. It is the highest level co-operative society. After the amendment of the year 2002, TRIFED instead of FFP and SAP acts as the Service Provider to the Service Provider (Service Provider) as the Ordinator and Market Developer. Now it started functioning in the year 1988 under the administration of Ministry of Welfare, Government of India but now it is administered under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
