SECTION 377 OF I.P.C
Original text of section 377
"Who ever voluntarily indulges in sense indulgence against the law of nature with any man, woman or animal, shall be punished with 1[imprisonment for life], or with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to ten years. and shall also be punishable with fine.
Explanation- Penetration is sufficient to constitute the necessary sense enjoyment for the offense mentioned in this section."
What is section 377?
- Unnatural sex has been out lawed under Section377 and has been made non-bailable and cognizable (it does not require any kind of warrant for arrest).
- If a man and a woman have unnatural sex even with mutual consent,then there is a provision of imprisonment of 10 years and fine under this section.
- Consensual sexual relations between two men also come under the purview of this law.
- Under this law, there is a provision for life imprisonment or 10 years and fine for having sex with any animal.
- On the basis of suspicion or by citing secret information,the police can arrest anyone in this case.
