Impact on pakistan Black List In FATF
This has caused great damage to the international image of Pakistan. With its inclusion in this list, a message has been sent to other countries of the world that Pakistan not only remains a safe haven for terrorist groups but is also providing them help in raising financial resources.
After being included in this list, Pakistan will come under the intense monitoring and scrutiny of the 'International Cooperation Review Group' in relation to the financing of terrorist groups.Like at present the economy of Pakistan is already going through a difficult phase, so the inclusion of Pakistan in this list is likely to jeo pardize its link with the world economy.
This will put tremendous pressure on Pakistan's economy which is dependent on foreign aid. This will make it almost impossible for Pakistan to get loans from the World Bank, International Monetary Fund and other international banking institutions in future to meet its financial needs.
In addition, there is a possibility of down grading Pakistan's debt rating by international banking and credit rating agencies after its inclusion in this list, which will make it difficult for Pakistan to raise finance from international bond markets as well.
Coalition aid funding to Pakistan as part of a US-military operation to eliminate terrorist groups, especially violence perpetrated by Taliban militants in Afghanistan, will be suspended.
With this, the possibility of increasing the influence of China in Pakistan is also being expressed. China has invested heavily in the 'China-Pakistan Economic Corridor CPEC' being built in Pakistan.
If Pakistan is unable to repay the loan taken from China due to its inclusion in this list, then China can get ownership in the projects related to the economic corridor with the help of its'debt-trap diplomacy'. If this type of influence of China on Pakistan increases in future, then it can be a matter of concern for India from a strategic point of view.
