SOCIOLOGY (FIRST PAPER)

INSTRUCTIONS
Each question in printed both in Hindi and in English. Answer must be written in the medium specified in the Admission Certificate Issued to you, which must be started clearly on the cover of the answer-book in the space provided for the purpose. NO credit will be given for the answers written in the medium other that specified in the Admission Certificate.
Candidates should attempt Question 1 and 5 which are compulsory, and any THREE of the remainning questions selection at least ONE question from each Section,
All questions carry equal marks
Parts of the same question must be answered together and must not be Interposed between answers to other questions.
Section A
1. Write short notes on any three of the following (each answer should not exceed 200 words each):
(a) Sociology is a science of society.
(b) Research Design.
(c) Interview as a method of social research.
(d) Religion and society.
2 Discuss the contributions of Durkheim to sociology. How for did his methodology influence sociological tradition?
3. How does culture influence personality ? Can personality influence culture? How?
4. What are the agencies of social control? Which is the most effective one in a democratic society?
Section B
5. Write short notes on any three of the following (each answer should not exceed 200 words):
(a) Planned development in a democracy.
(b) Power.
(c) Social Mobility.
(d) Youth Culture.
6. Has development been successful in removing poverty ? Can you relate development to progress?
7. Can education be considered as an agent of social change ? In wha manner can it establish a new social order?
8. How is Marxism relevant to developing nations ? Will it be able to establish classless societies?
समाजशास्त्र (प्रथम प्रश्न-पत्र ) - 1985
प्रत्येक प्रश्न हिन्दी और अंग्रेजी दोनों में छपा है।
प्रश्नों के उत्तर उसी माध्यम में लिखे जाने चाहिये जिसका निर्देश आपके प्रवेश-पत्र किया गया है, और इस माध्यम का स्पष्ट उल्लेख उत्तर-पुस्तक के मुख पृष्ठ पर अंकित निर्दिष्ट स्थान पर किया जाना चाहिये। प्रवेश पत्र पर उल्लिखित माध्यम अतिरिक्त अन्य किसी माध्यम में लिखे गए उत्तर पर कोई अंक नहीं मिलेंगे।
प्रश्न संख्या 1 और 5 अनिवार्य है। बाकी प्रश्नों में से प्रत्येक खण्ड से कम से कम प्रश्न चुनकर किन्हीं तीन प्रश्नों के उत्तर दीजिये।
सभी प्रश्नों के अंक समान हैं।
एक ही प्रश्न के विभिन्न भागों के उत्तर अनिवार्य रूप से एक साथ ही लिखे जा तथा उनके बीच में अन्य प्रश्नों के उत्तर न लिखे जायें।
खण्ड-क
1. निम्नलिखित में से किन्हीं तीन पर लघु टिप्पणियाँ लिखिए (प्रत्येक उत्तर 200 शब्द से अधिक नहीं होना चाहिए)
(a) समाजविज्ञान समाज का विज्ञान है।
(b) अनुसंधान अभिकल्प
(c) साक्षात्कार सामाजिक अनुसन्धान की एक विधि के रूप में
(d) धर्म तथा समाज ।
2. समाज विज्ञान में डर्कहाइम के योगदानों की विवेचना कीजिए। उनकी कार्यविि ने समाजविज्ञान की परम्पराओं को कहाँ तक प्रभावित किया ?
3. संस्कृति, व्यक्तित्व को किस प्रकार प्रभावित करती है ? क्या व्यक्तित्व संस्कृति क प्रभावित कर सकता है ? कैसे ?
4. सामाजिक नियन्त्रण की कौन-सी एजेंसियाँ हैं ? प्रजातांत्रिक समाज में कौन-स सर्वाधिक प्रभावशाली है ?
खण्ड-ख
5. निम्नलिखित में से किन्हीं तीन पर लघु टिप्पणियाँ लिखिए (प्रत्येक उत्तर 200 शब्दों से अधिक नहीं होना चाहिए)-
(a) प्रजातन्त्र में नियोजित विकास
(b) शक्ति
(c) सामाजिक गतिशीलता
(d) युवा संस्कृति
6. क्या विकास निर्धनता हटाने में सफल हो सका है ? क्या आप विकास का उन्नति से सम्बन्ध स्थापित कर सकते हैं ?
7. क्या शिक्षा को सामाजिक परिवर्तन का माध्यम माना जा सकता है ? वह किस प्रकार से नई सामाजिक व्यवस्था स्थापित कर सकती है ?
8. मार्क्सवाद किस प्रकार विकासशील राष्ट्रों के लिए प्रासंगिक है ? क्या इसके द्वारा वर्गहीन समाजों की स्थापना हो पायेगी ?
