Vienna Convention on Consular Relations
The Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations (1963) is an international treaty. Which defines the framework of diplomatic relations between two countries. According to Article 36 of the Treaty, if a person is arrested in any other country, the consulate/embassy of the person's country of origin must be informed immediately.
