Minorities
There is no definition of the word minority in the Constitution of India, yet the Constitution makes such provisions, which realise the rights of minorities and also ensures measures for their protection. Generally, the constitution the rights of minorities into two groups. One group consists of those rights which are enjoyed by all the citizens of India, while in the other group those rights which protect the uniqueness of a community in a separate area. The preamble to the constitution declares the state 'secular' which prohibits India from declaring any religion as the state religion and commits to providing freedom of religion and worship to all its residents. Is. Not only this, the freedom of belief, religion and worship which has been promised in the Preamble, has been implemented by incorporating it as a fundamental right of all citizens related to freedom of religion in Article 25-28. These rights entitle every person to profess,practice and propagate religion and ensure complete fairness to all religions on behalf of the State as well as on behalf of the various institutions of the State.
