FOREIGN POLICY
Current Challenges Related To Foreign Policy
Today, the government faces many challenges on the foreign policy front. There is a need for concerted action to attract foreign investors to India in the true sense, in which the Make in India program needs to be further enabled. The border dispute with China and Pakistan, the issue of terrorism with Pakistan, China's continued opposition to India's claim to a strategic global forum, our efforts to join the Nuclear Suppliers Group and get permanent membership in the UN Security Council. Attempts to thwart are also being made by China.
The coming close of China, Russia and Pakistan on the Afghanistan issue also compels us to think. With the world changing, especially in the current scenario, there could be new bilateral equations between major powers that will have implications for the fight against terrorism and on the global economy and trade. To remain relevant in the context of ongoing conflicts at the international level, India will have to assess the risks and decide its stand.
