Main cause of flood problem
The main reason for the problem of floods in India is not the lack of funds but the non-priority of it.
The funds raised, allocated and spent for building infrastructure meet the needs of a small segment of the populationi.e. people with better standard of living who live in better facilities parts of the city.
In such plans, instead of strengthening the public transport used by most of the people, the focus is on building more roads for private vehicles.
