Air Pollution In Delhi Major Challenge In India
The environmental problems of Delhi are increasing day by day in which the issue of air quality is prominent. This year also the air quality is deteriorating due to which the problem of smog has also prevailed. Despite all this, the Delhi government did not show has , due to which lakhs of people are affected. The situation is so serious that primary schools have to be closed for a few days. The air quality has reached an alarming state. The government's neglect is adding to the problems of the citizens, including those who were already suffering from respiratory problems. The problem of smog is due to burning of biomass in Haryana and Punjab, which causes air pollution for a longer period in winter.According to the survey of IIT Kanpur last year, the main reason for this pollution problem is pollution from dust vehicles and domestic and industrial emissions. Because of all this, what ever policies were implemented. Such as the use of CNG in vehicles, setting up industries outside the city, use of cars with even-odd numbers and ban on crackers on Diwali, the benefits of these were replaced. To overcome this problem, the Central Government, along with the governments of Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, will have to formulate a special inclusive comprehensive policy that can solve the problem of biomass burning and dust. The post-monsoon period in which paddy and wheat residues are burnt releases maximum aerosols which increase PM 2.5 and PM 2.5 badlyaffects the lungs.
After harvesting the crops with the machine, the lower part of the crop, ie a few inches above the root, remains, which is not used by the farmers, this problem occurs after burning it. This problem can be reduced if that residue is used. Along withthe farmer, the cooperation of the state government is also needed in this work. A big effort is needed to make the national capital Delhi green and pollution free. The problem of dust remains the problem of every city in India, which the civic agency(municipal) ignores. In 2015, the Environment Ministry issued an order under the Prevention and Prevention of Pollution Act, 1981, saying that greenery should be increased along the roads of Delhi, but still this order was not taken seriously. The number of public buses should be increased by discouraging private vehicles so that pollution can be reduced. China has done many such things, which can reduce pollution and relieve citizens from respiratory problems. Now only a determined policy and its successful implementation can take Delhi out of the list of most dirty cities.
