1. Changes in the nations of sovereignty and nationalism, the emergence of non-state actors and trans-national relations have affected international relations and state-centred international system.The non-state actors have changed the very concept of sovereignty and nationalism. They have also influenced the role of actors in international relations of nation states. Today, the policies,decisions and actions of nation states are all influenced by non-state actors because non-state actors have emerged as powerful a political, commercial, economic, cultural and commercial actors in the international environment. Analyzing the role of non-state actors, inter-governmental organizations (IGOs), international intra-governmental organizations (INGOsor NGOs) and multinational corporations (MNCs), Nee and Keohane write that these non-state actors act as surveillance channels for national decision makers. They are helpful in formulating and expanding the foreign policy agenda of one nation by which the foreign policy of one nation is sensitive to the foreign policy of the other nation. At the same time, the non-state actorsare engaged in the pursuit of their interests to a large extent outside the direct control of the nation-states, while at the same time involve the governments occasionally in the special problems arising as a result of their actions.

Non-state actors and nation-state system The non-state actors have brought abouta great change in the nation-state system and the role of nation-states in international relations.These have proved to be tools in increasing international interdependence and in organizing relations in this age of interdependence. In some areas they have outdone the role of nation states andare doing so. In international relations, petty politics has assumed more importance because now the role of non-state actors like multinational corporations has increased significantly.

Non-state actors as a product of the new international order, the non-state actors themselves are the product of atomic age, space age, communication revolution, transport revolution, welfare and internationalism, which are themselves the product of nation state system. . Many of these non-state actors have been created and are working because the nation-states have recognized their usefulness.Intergovernmental organizations and organizations like the United Nations and many other similar international organizations have been formed because of the wishes of the nation-states. Nation states still have a monopoly to exercise power in the international system. Even today, they control the activities of the non-state actors far more than their authority over their own behaviour.
4. Have the non-state actors embraced the nation-state system? Thus, although. the non-state actors are important and active actors of international relations, they have neither abolished the nation polity so far nor can there be any hope in the near future.They are playing an important role in increasing international cooperation, yet due to them many types of conflicts and tensions are also arising .
5. Non-state actors and world opinion- Due to the activities of non-state actors, mutual relations have developed among the citizens of different countries. These relations have also been established by crossing the boundaries of the nation-state. Today the relations with the people have widened and strengthened. They are playing an important role in the formation of world public opinion. Today these have been given the name of diplomacy with the people. The good thing is that this diplomacy is open and also based on morality.Non-state actors such as multinational corporations made international relations more complex and problematic. These are responsible for the importance of political relations in the international system. Some of these are harbingers of international peace and security, while others are acting as agencies for the dependence of underdeveloped nations on developed nations and bringing about neo-colonialism. Many of these actors have contributed to internationalism, the abolition of nationalist sentiment in favor of universalism and the growth of various strong peaceful, developmental and environmental protection movements. In the study of international politics, he has generated a cross-national perspective. The students of international politics are not until they have fully studied about non-state actors and trans-national relations.Till all they cannot study about the nature and scope of their subject.
