TAPI Gas Pipeline
TAPI Gas Pipeline is a joint project of Turkmenistan, Afghanistan,Pakistan and India. Its total length is about 1800 km. The work on this project was started in December 2015.
The pipeline will start from the 'Galkynysh Gas Field' in Turkmenistan's Caspian Basin, pass through Herat and Kandahar states of Afghanistan, cross Pakistan's Balochistan and Punjab m states and end at Fazilka in Punjab state of India.
Financial assistance for this is being provided by the Asian Development Bank. The construction cost of this gas pipeline estimated at about $10 billion Has been.
This pipeline will provide about 33 billion cubic meters of natural gas annually by Turkmenistan to the other three countries over a period of 30 years.

This project will give India access to the rich gas fields of Central Asia through which India can meet its energy needs.
India's active involvement in the project will help limit China's growing influence in the region.
