Homeland Security Dialogue Mechanism

On the occasion of the visit of the US President to India in 2010, the two countries had agreed to establish a Homeland Security Dialogue Mechanism. This methodology is in line with the signing of the India-US Anti-Terrorism Initiative.
Under the Homeland Security Dialogue, 6 sub-groups were formed, whose scope includes the following areas
- Global supply, traffic, port, border and maritime security.
- Information sharing between the metropolitan police system and federal state and local partners.
- Illegal financing, cash smuggling, financial fraud and counterfeiting Posture .
- Cyber Information
- developing capability
- Technology Upgradation.
A sub-group has been setup for capacity building as part of the Homeland Security Dialogue between India and the US. Its objective is to build capacity of Indian law enforcement agencies in collaboration with US agencies, these agencies are affiliated with all six sub-groups.who are included in the Homeland Security Dialogue.Structural collaboration between all the major institutions in India and the United States dealing with capacity building is of most importance.In view of this, the US side has proposed a Memorandum of Cooperation between the US 'Federal Law Enforcement Training Center' and its Indian counter part 'Bureau of Police Research and Development'.
